Developing Sustenance in the Pursuit of Vision (II)
I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. [2] Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. [3] For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:1-3 NKJV
Beloved,
There is a season in the pursuit of vision when it will tarry. To tarry means that it will seem as if it is fading away. And as I made mention yesterday, there is a way around it.
To keep going in the pursuit of vision:
- Define, buy and focus on the treasure and the joy ahead
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Matthew 13:44 NKJV
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [2] looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV
You must define what the end-result of the pursuit of vision will be to you. If it will not bring a desirable joy that is commensurate to the pain of the pursuit, drop it. It is the vision that brought a commensurate outcome that is worth pursuing and that is sustainable.
After you have defined it, let the joy of it keep you going. That was a major secret of Elisha and Ruth who stood firm and sustained their momentums in the pursuit of their vision.
Please use today to think about your visions and define their endpoints. Let the joy of it fill your heart so much that it becomes a stronghold to keep you going.
Till tomorrow when we would continue this conversation, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
