Beloved,
There are three cardinal points of filthiness that you must be mindful of.
The first is a filthy mouth. In Colossians 3:8, Apostle Paul admonishes the following: “But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language”.
Watch what you say. What is the first thing you say when you see an accident on the side of the road? What’s the first thing you say to yourself when you meet someone new? If what comes out of your mouth is toxic or not in alignment with God’s word, it’s a sign that filth is taking space where purity should be.
Filthy conduct is another indicator that purity is needed. The same is said for haughty looks in Proverbs 6:17.
Beloved, the only way to get rid of these mind perverting things is to mine your mind. Fill your mind with the things of God, habitually. Sanctify yourself. Don’t take in just any kind of information through music, media or otherwise. Guard your heart and soul jealousy and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you towards what is pure.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
