DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

 Isaiah 9:5-6‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle, and garments rolled in blood, will be used for burning and fuel of fire. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Beloved,

For you to understand this name of Jesus called the Prince of peace, you must understand why names exist in the first place. Your name represents you before men and before God. What the enemy has done over time is to water down the power of naming. Our ancestors research into what a child’s name should be even before the child is born because once the child’s name is out of order, his life will also be out of order.

Names are powerful. It is amazing to know how God supervised the earthly life of Jesus. We might say it was because He is the Savior of the world and the Son of God, but there were other people who didn’t have such wonderful credentials, yet God was interested in what names they would have. If you are a father, you, not your wife, have the sole responsibility to name your child. The father must pay enough price to wait before the Father to know what name his child should bear.

Your name identifies you. Your name identifies your personality, your potentials and power. Names represent what you can expect from men. So, when we call Jesus the Prince of peace, we are bringing your attention to the possibility that Jesus carries. Names activates the assistance and interventions of spirit. For example, when you hear someone being called a priest, it automatically signifies to you that such a person interacts with spirits possibly.

If the president of a country is to visit one of his states unannounced, that they weren’t expecting him doesn’t mean they must not do all they can to ensure his security and be responsible for his welfare in that time of visit. They immediately swing into action once the awareness of his presence sets in. So, when we call Jesus the Prince of peace, what it means is this, everything, every spiritual agency that must be in place for peace to be around the caller of that Name must rise up to ensure that Name does not fail.

Beloved, you probably know Jesus as Savior, He might even be the Lord of your life, but do you know Jesus as the Prince of Peace?

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
