DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Romans 12:1 (MSG)

So, here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Beloved,

When you say you are a Christian, it means you are a worshiper of God through Jesus Christ. As a worshiper of God, the following dimensions should characterize your worship to God.

Acknowledgement. Thank God the Father because there is none like Him. This you can do in a song, in prayer, in your meditation. Never let anything take away your acknowledgment of God. Pain and regret may want to take it away; men may want to take it away like Michal did to David in 2 Samuel 6:16-23. However, you must always be intentional in your acknowledgement of God.

Giving. Willingly give your best and even your last when God asks for it. This is a critical side of your worship. God says no one should appear before Him empty handed. Giving is first a thing of the heart, so worship will determine that you give something. God will come after your best and he will come after your last.

How obedience plays out in our daily activities. Our worship to God does not start and end in church. Either it starts in church and continues in the world, or it starts in the world and continues in church. If your obedience is low but your praise to God is high, your obedience is not complete. Your worship includes how you treat your fellow brother. If you heap praises on God but you neglect the ones he sends to you, you have neglected God.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
