1 Kings 11:14, 23, 25 NLT
“Then the Lord raised up Hadad the Edomite, a member of Edom’s royal family, to be Solomon’s adversary. God also raised up Rezon son of Eliada as Solomon’s adversary. Rezon had fled from his master, King Hadadezer of Zobah, Rezon was Israel’s bitter adversary for the rest of Solomon’s reign, and he made trouble, just as Hadad did. Rezon hated Israel intensely and continued to reign in Aram.”
Beloved,
Perpetual disobedience opens the door for the devil to wreak havoc in your life.
Ordinarily, Israel was divinely exempted from the violence commonly experienced by smaller nations. God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would keep them safe from all hurt and harm. But Israel began to step out on God and eventually they stepped completely out of His will and presence and directly into perpetual disobedience. It was only a matter of time before they became vulnerable to the devils attack.
Beloved, understand that sin, especially sin committed repeatedly, places you in the devil’s territory. Sinful activity gives the devil a full advantage in your life and destiny.
God allowed Israel’s adversaries to terrorize Israel, not because He couldn’t protect them, not because he forgot or ignored His promises to them. Rather, in keeping with His covenant, he pulled His presence away, allowing their adversaries to have access to them because of their perpetual disobedience.
May disobedience never cause you to miss out on victory or the commitment of God over your life in Jesus’ mighty name.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
