Luke 18:35-36,38-39 NKJV
[35] Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. [36] And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. [38] And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Beloved,
Today, what I want us to learn from this great man called Blind Bartimaeus was his consistency. Despite all the discouragement, he maintained his consistency in the right direction.
Friend, nothing good yields their strength at the first instance. They yield their strength after a man has demonstrated persistence over a long period of time.
Only eternity knows how many great dreams that had been lost to inconsistency. Many people back out due listening to the crowd. There are people who are going nowhere and who will not let people who are going keep moving. You must identify voices of people like that and consciously ignore or shut them down.
As you go into this day, start developing at attitude of persistence. Develop strength to hold your breath over a long period of time over a matter that has to do with life and destiny. I tell people in my church every time and I’m saying this to you today: Stay there! Stay there!! Stay there!!!
Till tomorrow, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
