Romans 8:31a, MSG
“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?…”.
Beloved,
We established the last time how deep the Father’s love is for us and how He has not held back the greatest gift of all from us. I ended the last write up by mentioning covenant, which as you know, requires two parties. God has done His part and is faithful to do everything to keep you safe and to ensure you can never fail.
When anything rises against you as an enemy – this can be a person, spirit, bad habit or anything – and you are a believer, you are responsible for fulfilling your part of the covenant. Part of that is remaining in Him and in His will. Your other responsibility is to apply that which He has made available to you. Lately, I’ve been reminding my members to apply the Blood of Jesus and to do so liberally. His blood has so much power, it changed the course of all humanity. Imagine what it can do against your giant.
Apply the name of Jesus. Demons tremble when they hear his name. His name has more power than anything else you can name.
Apply the Word of God. Jesus Himself who is the Word used the Word to combat Satan when he dared to tempt him in the desert.
His blood, His name and His Word not only have the power to keep you safe, they are extremely dangerous and, in fact, fatal to your enemies.
So, to Paul’s point in his letter to the Romans, who can stand against you when God is for you?
God is and will forever be Jehovah Nissi, that is, the Lord your Banner. He is your victory. In Him you win and indeed there is no failure. God has proven that He has done His part. Be sure you are doing yours.
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
