Luke 14:28-30 (AMPC)
For which of you, wishing to build a farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it? Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is unable to complete [the building], all who see it will begin to mock and jeer at him, saying, This man began to build and was not able (worth enough) to finish.
Beloved,
If you want to build anything that will last, you must put a solid structure to your life. Genesis 1:1 revealed to us that at some point in time, the earth lacked structure and was void and formless. You won’t be able to see the beauty of things that lack a proper structure, no matter how promising the thing is. The Bible recorded numerous instances where the law of structure was put to use:
- Jesus chose twelve disciples to be with him before sending them out. The nation of Israel in the wisdom of God had to be twelve tribes. We may ask why? The purpose was to put a solid structure in place.
- When the children of Israel went to war, it was commanded that the tribe of Judah (literally means praise) go first. This is an adumbration of what we should adopt in the place of prayer and spiritual warfare.
- At the feeding of 5000 people, Jesus made them to sit down in companies of 50 before they could be fed because it is easier to manage smaller crowds than it is larger ones.
- Jesus woke up early to pray. That was a structure he put in place in His life and it is to be an example for us.
- One time when Jesus needed to heal a certain girl, He sent everyone out except his disciples and the parents because those other people were full of doubts.
Many examples of the system of structure abounds in the Bible and it is your wisdom to apply this basic principle to your life if you want to have a successful outcome in 2023.
Why is structure so important? It is because this is the virtue is needed for the move of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. God’s kingdom is structured, and He moves freely in a system that is structured. Put structure in place for both small things and big things. When there is no structure, your life will attract many wrong things. Structure helps you to set standards. It eliminates the insufficiency of any system. When you put structure in place, it will even reveal your weaknesses so you can work on them and your strengths so you can harness them.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
