John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Beloved,
Do you love God? Then, you must love His Son. You must love His word. You must love the truth. You can not say you love God and yet hate His word or disagree with the truth. In fact, a major indicator, that your life is under attack and at risk of spiritual decay is your aversion to the truth of the word of God (2 Timothy 4:3-5).
The devil loves it when you stop reading your Bible and stop speaking and believing according to it. In fact, even if you recite from the Bible but don’t acknowledge that what you are saying is God’s word, the devil will be okay with that. He doesn’t want God’s word to prevail because it means the unavoidable truth for him- the kingdom of God is at hand! To God be the glory.
A lot of time people who call themselves Christians will sincerely believe they are praying heaven down, yet they are left wondering why the kingdom of God is not at work in their lives. Beloved, prayer is very important, but without knowledge of God’s word, you might be praying amiss.
Keep in mind God is His Word. Jesus is God’s word in the flesh who dwelt among us. His word is as sure and as true and as faithful as He is. Why do you think we pray in the name of Jesus? We do so because we learned the following from His word when He, Himself said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus also says to us today what He said to His faithful apostles: “most truly I say to you, If you ask the Father for anything, He will give it to you in my name,” (John 16:23).
Before faith and prayer can be at work for you, you must have a revelation of and a relationship with God’s word and the name of Jesus. Let them both reign powerfully as mighty pillars in your heart. Meditate on them. Let them anchor you and be a firm foundation of your life; especially of your prayer life (1 Corinthians 3:11).
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
