Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Beloved,
We have made it to the final write up of this series about kingdom pillars. I encourage you to take your time to go through the series again and again so that you might be empowered to do what is needful to keep each pillar strongly in place in your life.
To round off, today we talk about the church as a kingdom pillar. The new testament church was established as a pillar when Jesus ascended and the Holy Spirit came.
If you are a born again believer; then, you are the church. And like every other pillar of God’s kingdom, you have a function. Your first function after salvation and reception of the Holy Spirit is to be part of a body. Currently, in our church, we are reading a book, “He Sets the Solitary in Families” by my father in destiny, Rev. Olusola Areogun. You should not be a Christian in isolation. You have a job to do as part of the body of Christ.
Please note that gathering with other believers is critical. It keeps you safe from the devil’s attempts to “sift you as wheat” (Luke 22:31). When you are properly placed in your local church, you are not there just to attend, you are there as part of the body and you should be active. It is in the place of active stewardship that the Father shapes and molds you and prepares you for your next level. It is in the place of active stewardship that He uses you for His glory. Your deliverance, the word from God you need, His instructions for your life, and so many things from God are made available to you when you are properly placed in the church He has assigned you to. You receive proper pastoring in your local church, that is, someone who is anointed to teach and train you and father you for destiny.
I also want to point out that it is not every gathering of “Christians” that is a church.
As I stated earlier on, The Holy Spirit is an essential pillar to God’s kingdom and to the body of Christ. If you take the Holy Spirit from the church, it becomes just a townhall meeting or a social club. We are not called to be in a fraternity. We are called to be a church. If you can take your proper place, rest assured that the gates of hell cannot stand against you!
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
