Romans 10:19 NKJV
But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”
Beloved,
Don’t miss out on or reduce the power of your belief in Christ Jesus. As we round off this series, I want us to look at some ways we can be intentional about establishing and maintaining an effective belief system.
The first counsel I have is this: you must be the one to make the decision about what you believe. So often, I run into people who say that they “believe” what their family or community told them to believe. For example, there are some people who call themselves Christians, only for further inquiry to reveal that nothing about their pattern of thinking, speaking, behavior, or priorities in life indicate Christianity as a true identity for them. Though they took on the label, they never chose to believe it sincerely.
Still, others take on Christian practices quite well. They go to church religiously but could never tell you why the do so. They do not even believe anything fruitful will come from their belief. Beloved, make the right choice of your belief. Believe intelligently. Don’t believe dogmatically.
Another counsel I have is this: let your belief be rooted in the word of God. If you truly believe, it must be in accordance with His word. For the Bible says:
Romans 10:17 NKJV
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
You must read and hear God’s word. Let your belief be rooted in the robust knowledge of the word of God that establishes its trustworthiness.
Finally, guard your heart! Don’t allow the devil to tamper with you belief system. Mind what you hear and what you expose your hearing system to. If truly you believe in Christ Jesus, then protect that belief even more than you will protect the most sensitive parts of your body.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
