Matthew 12:43-45 NKJV
[43] “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. [44] Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. [45] Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
Beloved,
We trust that your new year is off to a great start. In our church, many enjoyed the glorious experience of being delivered from things that have impeded them from moving forward or taking some critical steps in life. Perhaps at some point in life, you have enjoyed being delivered or set free from something that held you captive or put limits on your life. As we enter this new year, I would like us to start with full knowledge of how to move forward post deliverance. There is no use being set free or having something fixed in your life if you do not have the right structure in place to prevent a reversion.
In this life, a believer must not only have the knowledge of God, it is important to also know a little something about the devil. You don’t need to study demonology or anything like that; you just nred to know enough to cast him out and keep him out of your life and affairs. God’s word gives us the knowledge we need to destroy the works of the devil. Knowing God’s word concerning things – including the devil – helps us to identify exactly what it is we are dealing with. It tells us exactly how to confront an observed evil.
Beloved, you must take personal responsibility to partner with God in order to keep the enemy away. Start by ensuring you are fully empowered by the word of God. Know the God of your salvation and the authority He has given you and how it is strengthened the more you commune with Him and His word.
We will look at a few more steps next time. For now, know what God has spoken about you, your situation and the devil that is disturbing you and we will pick it up from there.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
