Proverbs 8:1-2 NKJV
[1] Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? [2] She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet.
Beloved,
We started talking about the crossroads of life and the tools needed to navigate them. It is critical to learn the effective ways to handle life’s crossroads before you get there because you cannot afford to make mistakes at these points. If you’re driving along a local road and miss a turn, it is trivial to reroute. If however you miss an exit on the highway, it will take longer to get back on track. Now imagine you got on a wrong flight, the consequence is even more dire. All this is to say that the higher you go in life and destiny, the less should be your tolerance for errors. Therefore, you cannot afford to be distracted at the crossroads of life.
So what must you do? At the crossroads of life, what you need to deploy first is your spiritual intelligence, not your natural intelligence. Engage the advantage you have through the Holy Spirit. Engage the Spirit of wisdom. You need wisdom manifesting as discernment and foresight (Proverbs 8:1-6, Isaiah 33:6). You need discernment because every option seems right; every option is screaming, “pick me, I’m right for you.” Every option can be good, but every option cannot be right. Only one option can be right, but you need discernment to know which is right. You will need a dimension of wisdom that will work as discernment and as foresight.
It is not always obvious who is wise at the crossroads of life; but the future will reveal who is wise. In fact, the wisdom may seem as folly to the undiscerning and those who lack foresight. Therefore, the wisdom you need is not the one that will only solve your immediate problems; it must be such that when the future comes, you will be proven wise.
Beloved, I pray for you that when the future comes, you will look back with joy and gratitude because of the choices you made at critical points in life.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
