DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

II Peter 3:18 NKJV‬
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Beloved,

As indicated in the Holy Scriptures such as the verse above and scriptures like Matthew 13:31-32, growth is a kingdom principle. Yes, growth signifies maturity, but not every growth is healthy. Some growths are demonic and cancerous. Not only are they harmful, but they can spread and fester, stealthily causing infection to various parts of your destiny and relationship with God to the point that they are no longer existent. Such growths must not be allowed. You must deal with them before they deal with you.

For example, the Bible warns us in Matthew 24:12 and Revelation 3:15-17: “Don’t grow cold.” You must keep your passion and desire for the things of God hot. 1 Samuel 3:1-4 warns us not to grow “dim eyes”. We must remain alert and aware of the will, ways, and presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as we should not grow a dull heart (Matthew 13:15) or feeble hands (Jeremiah 6:24). Doing so leads to a lack of care for the things of God, which will lead to a life where you are fully engaged in God-less activity, i.e., sin. When your hands are feeble, they are no longer strengthened or able to do what God requires. They are prone to mistakes. They can touch anything blindly, even things that cause physical and spiritual harm!

In Genesis 18:12, Sarah nearly laughed herself out of God’s promises. She had gotten to a place where she decided that age was an excuse or rationale for following the status quo, though God had greater plans for her. Do not grow into a mindset where the things and words and promises of God just sound funny to you. Don’t grow into a place of limitations.

As much as you can, avoid these demonic growths. Instead grow into the knowledge of God. Grow in grace. We will talk more about these next time.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
