II Peter 3:18 NKJV
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
Beloved,
As we read in the scripture above, to grow is not a suggestion or option. Rather, it is a kingdom mandate. In our last write up, we stressed the importance of growing in in grace. The scripture above asserts that in addition to the grace we will need to fulfill our kingdom mandate on this side of eternity, we must also continue to grow in the knowledge of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. God is the multi-breasted one (Genesis 17:1). In other words, there is more to Him than you could ever imagine. But you must you can grow in understanding when it comes to Him. The more time you spend with Him and His Word, the more time you listen to God’s anointed vessel, and as you spend time in prayer and in the reading and studying of His Word, the more sensitive you will become to His voice, His ways and even His personality. Growing in Him means spending more time in His presence. Using Jesus as a template as discovered in Luke 2, we learn of the specific areas in which we must grow. Growth in these areas indicate Growth in Jesus, our Lord and Savior all together. Luke 2:52 instructs us to grow in wisdom, in stature, and to grow in favor. We must also grow in grace. Growing in these areas will help us to look more like Him.
You will know a believer is growing by the visible increase in their consumption, understanding and application the Word of God for effective living. The word of God you hear and apply is what makes the difference; anyone can see, but the ability to see your Father in Heaven.
I commend you to God and to the Word of His Grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
