I Timothy 3:14-15
“These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”
Beloved,
The scripture above describes the church as the house of the living God- a ground and pillar of truth. If you are a born again believer of Christ Jesus, the. You are part of His body and must be joined to your God ordained church. If you will be a functional member of the body of Christ, you must be willing to hear the truth.
Like electricity, God is good but He is not safe for anyone who is careless in their engagement with Him (Samuel 6:6-7). There is a way we must behave around the things of God. We must be adaptable to the things of God. Same scripture that says we should make a joyful noise in His presence is also the same that says God is in His holy temple, let the whole earth keep silent (Habakkuk 2:20).
Membership of the local church is as valid and as demanding as membership of any other structured organization. Like any structured organization, it has purpose. What is the purpose of the church? The purpose or mandate of church membership to is to meet the needs of God’s people especially as it pertains to life and destiny and establish God’s kingdom on the earth.
What does true church membership look like?:
- Commitment to personal and corporate growth, 2 Thessalonians 1:3 TPT.
- Fulfilling the ministry of help, 1 Chronicles 12:8-18
- Fulfilling the ministry of joint, Ephesians 4:16.
- Keeping the unity of the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:1-6
If the church is seen as deficient, it is because someone is not playing their role, and they are too selfish. In fulfilling your mandate, you must be a part of the church by sharing in that fellowship, you must partake, and participate. This determines the strength of the church formation and your own joint to that formation. Discipleship is the secret to ensuring a strong formation.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
