“It’s better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day. Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel.”
Beloved,
The devil will love to render you stupid. That is why his first trickery was too confuse Eden into thinking she knew better. If she was wise, she would have wondered, why does this serpent care so much about my instructions from God. She would have considered who she had her spouse take counsel from; she would have considered that she was learning from God, Himself in the garden on a daily basis. But something was contending against the sound counsel she will have enjoyed naturally if the sin of ignorance had not distracted her with wrong understanding. To round of this series, let’s look at some of the things that tend to contend against wise counsel:
- Idols of heart: Those who have already exalted another thing in their life would not take sound counsel even if given to them on a platter of gold.
- Emotions: If you are emotional about cases, it will becloud your judgment.
- Fear of men: This is especially true if you are in the position to offer that counsel.
- Limited Understanding: Unbalanced understanding about grace and how committed God is to us and His word.
- No Holy Spirit: Without Him, you will lack conviction and lack of solid convictions about life and destiny lead to poverty of the soul. It’s just a matter of time.
How will you know that the counsel you are receiving is sound? How can you ensure you are not being deceived by some of the things we discussed earlier on? You must know that every counsel must pass through these tests:
- It must have explanation from God’s word, and it must be consistent with the word.
- It must be consistent with the voice of the Holy Spirit in your heart.
- It must be consistent with your God ordained destiny and the path God designed for you to take.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
