1 Timothy 3:8-9
8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience
Yesterday we started a discussion on a believer’s need to learn to develop his or her ability to hold forth the mystery of faith. We stopped at a critical point where we established that it is of utmost importance and critical that you and I operate as a faith builder. We must consistently exert conscious energy that will empower us to firmly hold forth faith because our entire existence in God’s Kingdom and economy depends on it. No faith, no access, no kingdom life! The just shall live by faith. Habakkuk 2:4 and Romans 1:17 establish this. Not only is faith required for life in Christ, but it is also more importantly required to please God according to Hebrews 11:6.
Now, think back to a situation where you started up on a high note of faith, believing and asking God for something but as time goes you begin to adjust your expectations to match your physical realities. Now, let me caution you that contrary to what might be your first consideration of what may be responsible, sin is not always the reason. The fact is that every believer must arrive at this juncture in their faith journey. It is a common experience that at some point it will seem and look as if everything you have heard, learned, and known is a mirage. Beloved, do not despair as this is a part of the journey of faith.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
