Luke 22:35-36 | NKJV
And He said to them, “When I sent you without a money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?” So they said, “Nothing.” [36] Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.
Beloved,
One of our jobs till we see Jesus is to keep finding out what His will for our lives for the moment is. The reason is that His instruction can change with time.
The passage stated how Jesus changed the instruction He once gave. He told the disciples earlier on not to take a knapsack along in their journey but NOW, He instructed them to take it along.
We must be careful not to be stuck with the instruction that is obsolete. So, let’s take out time to regularly find out what God is saying now. Remember that: “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4). Our safety is in the proceeding word. Lack of this understanding is what makes many to be confused when it comes to the prophetic move. Imagine Isaiah giving a word to King Hezekiah that he should prepare to die and in another few minutes, God is telling Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that He has changed His mind (Isaiah 38:1-8).
In the military, they are taught to wait for the last command before making any move. The same way, we must wait on Him for the last instruction.
Receive grace to wait.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
