DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Matthew 6:25-27
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Beloved,
Robbers of life come in different forms to different people. The first one I want to talk about is wrong choices. Wrong choices can shorten life or reduce the quality of life. The choice of what you eat and friends you keep is powerful. These choices can mar or make you. We are all products of our choices. Few are the choices that others make for you.
Worry is another robber of life. This can be very subtle. Worry is a way of intentionally engaging your imagination without producing any positive result. Worry takes your time. The devil works with worry to make one fruitless. Remember, there is no one that the devil does not talk to. You must be wise to prevent the devil from highlighting negative things to you. God does not usually do that. He only does that to the rebellious ones. Worry reduces life. Remember, the devil’s first tactic is to withdraw a believer from God and to get his faith in a bad shape before launching his attack. Do not allow the devil to cheat you by introducing worry into your life. In your lowest moment, you must encourage yourself. Always remember that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Lastly, fortify yourself against guilt. Guilt keeps your attention on the past. It robs you of the present and consequently of the future. When you refuse to take your eyes off the mistakes of the past, you get stuck in your past. Learn to live to the fullest by overcoming guilt. Don’t give the devil a higher hand over your life by living in guilt. It does not matter how much you have messed up; God has forgiven you if you have come clean to Him. You only need to forgive yourself and overcome guilt.

I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.

I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
