2 Samuel 24:10
And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O LORD, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”
Beloved,
What makes you a good Christian is not just giving your life to Jesus; it also includes keeping your conscience alive. Most of the time when people query some Christians’ salvation, it is because the consciences of those believers are not alive.
An unbeliever whose conscience is active is easier to relate with than a believer whose conscience is dead. The reason is that the conscience is a system God puts in place for the mind to discern between good and bad. When it is alive, it can respond to the impulse of the Holy Spirit. However, when it is not in place, that life has lost a major characteristic of being a human being.
When David committed a major error by conducting census, his heart pricked him and condemned him. May I ask you, when last did the Holy Spirit convicted you for committing an error last? When last did you feel bad for doing something bad? If your heart has stopped pricking you for doing bad, it is a sign that you have lost your conscience and I must tell you that you must seek for help. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Walk up to your pastor to take your through the steps of restoration.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
