Job 13:19 NKJV
Who is he who will contend with me? If now I hold my tongue, I perish.
Psalm 141:3 TLB
.Help me, Lord, to keep my mouth shut and my lips sealed.
Beloved,
Words are powerful; it makes or mars a man’s destiny. A lot of people are victims of their words or those of others. A lot of people are daily regretting what they should not have said that they said. The same Bible that says that if you hold your tongue you will perish, is the same scripture that recorded the prayer of the psalmist asking for grace to keep his mouth shut, and lips sealed.
So, there is a balance that must be maintained. We must obey the principle established by James: “be slow to speak” (James 1:19). What this means is that you should take your time before speaking. There is a time when a closed mouth will be tantamount to a closed destiny and there are other situations when an open mouth is suicidal. We must allow the Holy Spirit to help us slow down and take the reins of our emotions.
I encourage to stop talking anyhow. My counsel to you is to never let anybody ensnare you with your words. Watch your words!
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
