Matthews 25:8-10 | MSG
8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
Beloved,
In the journey of life, you need to take extra with you in order to make it. One thing that is common to everyone as we journey on in life is that at a point, we all will need to use our extra. Life will definitely ask for your extra, when and where is what I do not know. Hence, you must consciously carry it around and not lose sight of it. Never be so comfortable as to loan out your extra.
The ten virgins were all given the grace to see the bridegroom. However, the five foolish ones were disqualified because they lack extra oil. In similar manner, every Christian is equipped one way or the other and qualified by the blood of Jesus to hit his target. What disqualifies some is the inability to produce the extra when life demands it.
Oil brings ease and possibility. When an engine is well lubricated, it has endless possibilities. In like manner, oil makes the heart glad. It promotes continuity and fruitfulness. To succeed, do not despise oil. The oil you need can be in the form of patience, perseverance, tenacity, faith, trust and so on.
As a student, a wife, a husband, an entrepreneur; you must carry extra. You must be wise enough to recognize when to engage the force of the extra you carry. Quitting, failing, frustration, lack of fulfillment are signs of running out of oil and lacking extra oil.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
