Matthew 26:26-28
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins…”
Beloved,
Today, we continue looking at communion as a source of power for deliverance. Before the CDC and World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic in 2020, I instructed our church family that we would be taking communion, minimally every Sunday, if not daily during those unprecedented times. Why?
When we take the bread, we take on our identity as the body of Christ. Remember, Christ’s body took on every sin and curse on earth, past, present and future and overcame it. By His stripes, we are healed! (Isaiah 53:5).
When you take the wine, you take His blood. As the scripture in Matthew 26 explains to us, His Blood is a cleanser of sins and it is the means by which we overcome according to Revelations 12:11. Just as a lamb’s blood was the mark of Passover in Exodus 12, the blood of Jesus, the lamb of God, covers you and will cause plagues or curses of any kind to pass over you. Hebrews 12:24 says:
“…To Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
Hebrews 12:24
You have heard the saying, “You are what you eat”. Take communion with your Lord and Savior seriously and become an impenetrable force against any curse. Beloved, your deliverance is sure.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
