Luke 18:1
“And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint…”
Beloved,
The consequences of failure to pray will not happen immediately. They usually show up in the future. This could be one reason so many Christians do not take their prayer lives seriously. Perhaps if they understood that their future, the future of their children and the future of people whose lives depend on their prayers are at stake they would do better. Beloved, when you don’t pray, worry is inevitable. Your future is unsure. Let us consider some of the common attributes of prayer less people:
- They do not understand the God they are praying to.
- They do not understand the concept of prayer.
- They build their prayer lives around needs.
- Their faith is too small.
- They are proud.
You will hear me say that last one again and again. Prayerlessness is not a response to busyness. It is the other way around. More often than not, it is just that our minds have developed the wrong beliefs about prayer and spending time with the Creator over time.
If you find that any of the attributes above define you, check yourself. Your future is in danger! Your relationship with God is in danger! If you don’t pray ahead before crisis comes, you’re in trouble. May your life never be filled with the worry and uncertainty that comes with a prayer less lifestyle in Jesus’ name.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
