1 Samuel 17:34-37
“But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
Beloved,
Make sure you connect your past, present and future. See how David profited greatly from his past. As you are called to go from strength to strength and from glory to glory, manage your past with the mindset that you must earn from it. There are things you did in your past that profited you then, but since you gave your life to Christ, you did not think to bring it with you. Submit your past to the Lord and let Him purify it so you can earn from it.
How do people earn awards? How do others earn their dream role? Their track record speaks for them! Your track record can do the same and more for you if you acknowledge it properly and surrender it to God. You have what people are looking for. What you have done has value. Let your track record speak for you. Be sure to Keep an account.
As we round off this series, I want to encourage you- don’t waste any part of your life. Don’t waste it by being stuck in it. Don’t waste it by refusing to move forward. Your life in Christ is greater and more glorious. With this in mind, surrender your past to God and ask the Holy Spirit to help you see all the ways you can benefit from your past for your best tomorrow.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
