John 7:1, 3-5 NKJV
[1] After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. [3] His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. [4] For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” [5] For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
Beloved,
Be careful of people’s advice. Whoever heard Jesus’ brothers’ counsel would have thought that they had His interest at heart, until we read verse 5 that reveals that they do not believe in Jesus.
This is the representation of many people that counsel others. It amazes me that what is in the heart of men can be different from what is on their lips.
Not all men are bad, however you need to pray that the Holy Spirit helps you discern men and what is in their hearts lest you make an enemy your counselor who will in turn lead you in a wrong direction. I pray that just like Jesus dismissed their counsel, you will also be able to recognize and not take wrong counsel.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
