Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceptive above all things And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep
Beloved,
Just as the engine of a car is crucial to the performance of a car, so is the heart to our physical and spiritual lives. A bad heart reduces life physically, and repels God spiritually, stopping the flow of grace, mercy anointing, blessings and manifestations of God in our lives. The Bible says that man look at the outward but God in his supremacy looks at out heart; knows our thoughts and the condition our heart.
God rejected the sacrifice of Cain and accepted that of Abel. He spoke against the Jews, who on the outside looked and acted holy, because he knew their hearts were from far him. God called David a man after his own heart and forgave him of grave sins because of the condition of his heart. Jesus took special notice of the widow that gave very little money with a very big heart. God holds a righteous heart in high regard.
How do I know the condition of my heart you may wonder? Tomorrow, we will continue this series by discussing how to do this.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
