Life is full of unconscious teachers, but you must not be an unconscious learner. As a child of God, you must know that a major entry point into the miraculous is information. Many believers start a venture without receiving a word from God. As a result, they have nothing to hold on to when they are faced with challenges on that venture.
Before you start anything, receive a word from God and keep it close to you. And when the wind is blowing and the storm of life is brewing, let that word be your anchor. It is hard to start learning the work of faith in crisis; it is as hard as doing adult education. So before crisis comes, you must learn how to walk by faith.
In crisis, what you need first is not faith but the anointing. For you to hold on to the mystery of faith, you must keep hearing and meditating on the word of faith, Romans 10:17. The reason why many people are not developing their faith in major areas is because they are not hearing the word of God enough in an area for them to master it, Romans 4:19.
For example if you need healing, you need to keep hearing the word of faith on healing. Every believer must develop his own library; you must know what word will work for what occasion because God will always go before the devil to supply you a word for a season.
