Proverbs 6:1-2 AMP
My son, if you have become surety (guaranteed a debt or obligation) for your neighbor, If you have given your pledge for [the debt of] a stranger or another [outside your family], [2] If you have been snared with the words of your lips, If you have been trapped by the speech of your mouth…
Beloved,
There is a part that you must play when it comes to avoiding and escaping the snares Satan has set before us. These snares are meant to end you and your destiny in one way or the other, so you cannot be passive. The Bible says
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
Proverbs 6:5 NKJV
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
And like a bird from the hand of the [c]fowler.
In other words, we need to use wisdom when we are up against that which is intentionally out to cause us harm.
When David was caught in the snare of Achish, the king of Gath, he pretended to be a person with a severe psychiatric issue so that he could escape. You have to be intentional and strategic.
Another step you can take to escape the snare of the enemy is to accept correction. If you struggle with pride and don’t take relevant instruction seriously, you are an easy target for the devil. Paul warns Timothy
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 NKJV
25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
Anything you do in arrogance or pride will breed spiritual limitations that will eventually become a snare for you.
Make the conscious decision to do what it takes to avoid the snare of Satan. Walk in the way and wisdom of God, be strategic and intentional, and heed the instruction and counsel from the wise.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
