Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Beloved,
Last time, I challenged you to consider your life. Does it look like the kingdom of God or are there some pillars missing? We are still discussing the pillars of His Kingdom. We understand that Jesus is our firm foundation, the word of God expressed in flesh. We will further discuss the word of God in this edition. You must know that His Word has life-giving and life-sustaining power.
Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
His word doesn’t just give life, it is powerful enough to sustain it! It operates like a healing balm, able to treat any ailment or troubled situation. When anything or any area of a believer’s life is weak or destiny-reducing, His word has the power to strengthen it!
Psalms 119:28-32, NIV
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law. I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws. I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD; do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.
Another thing I want to establish is that what you love the most will eventually take over your life. Don’t love anything more than His word. Don’t give more attention to or meditate more on anything than His ord. You can’t say you love God and not love His word; that would be incongruous. The word of God is powerful. It must become and remain a pillar in your life. Next time we will talk more about why and how to ensure His word becomes and remains a pillar in your life.
