Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Beloved,
The older you get, the more difficult it is to have time for God and for things of destiny, you will have to create time. The tendency is there to serve God with depleting fervency. Every believer needs to rekindle the fire of their passion from time to time. We will consider some causes of reduced passion to watch out for.
- Factors responsible for reduction of passion include:
Discouragement. A time may come where you feel discouraged about life generally or about something specifically. It is the spirit of depression lurking around and seeking admittance into your life. Be careful not to let your present reality make you doubt the faithfulness of God. The devil wants to deceive you into thinking that God has failed you or that He has not been good to you. Don’t fall for his deception. - Deferred hope. Sacrifice in the kingdom is what you give despite and in spite of what is not currently working in your life. Hope deferred can make the heart sick to the point of inability to get excited about the things of God.
- Burned out. This usually happens when you don’t know your threshold. When you are doing beyond what you can reasonably handle, and when you are giving from your soul rather than from your spirit, burn out is inevitable.
Tomorrow, I will be sharing more things that can cause a man’s passion for the things of God to dwindle. Your responsibility is to idenyify these things and how they manifest, so that you are able to guard against them when they come around.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
