Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Beloved,
Yesterday, we started considering some causes of reduced passion that we need to watch out for. Today, I will share more of these factors to watch out for.
- Busyness. Being adequately occupied with a clear purpose is different from being busy without a clear purpose. The latter will drain your energy with little chance for recovery, while the former will get you recharged and refueled for the pursuit of your goal.
- Disorder. If you don’t put order to your life, your energy will be scattered around, and you will be left spent and drained of passion.
- Divided loyalty. The Bible says that you cannot serve both two masters with equal devotion. You will try to be faithful to one at the expense of the other and end up not faithful to any. Your attention and focus will be divided and you won’t be able to serve with passion.
- Lack of focus on what God is doing presently and currently. Many times we fall into the error of worrying about uncertainties of tomorrow at the neglect of the blessings of God for the present.
- Opposition. Demonic oppression causes stagnation in life. It makes people fearful of taking a step because they have believed the lie of the devil that they will fail. At this point, people begin to withdraw into their shell, and they are fearful to attempt any great thing in life.
Having considered the various causes of diminished passion, we will consider how to regain fervency and passion tomorrow.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
