Hebrews 10:35
Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
Beloved,
Confidence is not optional in the life of a believer. It is a critical component of faith. The Bible says:
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Ephesians 3:12
Confidence is required to approach God. But not just any kind of confidence. See the scripture below:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
So your confidence need not be in yourself. It must be in the Lord. Many of us say our confidence is in Him. But how do we know? How do we build our confidence in Christ?
We can see one way from the scripture below:
Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.
2 Peter 3:18 NLT
We cannot fully put our confidence in a God we do not know. We must take time to get to know the God of our salvation daily. Another way to build our confidence is to put the covenants we have with God to work for us. Of course you must first know what they are. Confessing and operating according to the covenant promises we have with Christ Jesus and keeping our part of the covenant builds our confidence in Him.
Beloved, don’t choose to live in fear. Don’t choose to forsake the reward that comes with willing, confident engagement and service to God. Put your confidence in Him and walk with your confidence in Him.
