Keep the Devil at Bay in Your Life
James 4:7
Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Beloved,
Scripture is clear about who the devil is; he is the god of this world. The devil is one visitor who does not need an invitation to show up. If you don’t keep him at bay, he may end up becoming a guest in your home.
Every demon has a smell, every action and activity of the devil has a signal to let you know he is nearby. It is your wisdom to recognize these signals to prevent the devil from getting close. Let’s consider some entry points that the devil explore so we can give him no room.
Rooms that the devil take advantage of include:
- Anger, Ephesians 4:26-27.
- Unguarded moments of life, 1 Peter 5:8 (TLB, TPT). Examples are times of emotional breakdown that cause us to speak loose words or ask questions that God will not give an answer to.
- Unguarded desires. These include uncontrollable cravings, addictive behavior, excessiveness, Numbers 11:4-5,34.
- Incomplete process/information, Matthew 12:43.
- Lies, deceit, half-truths, wrong interpretation of otherwise correct information, Genesis 3.
Beloved, don’t allow the devil’s assault to continue in your life. Recognize his signals and immediately stand against his assaults using the weapons of warfare that Christ has provided for you. Cast him out of your space and take the force of the blood of Jesus against the devil and he will flee from you just as scripture promised.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
