2 Peter 1:2-3 NKJV
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Beloved,
So far, we have established how we must pray for God’s kingdom to come and His will done. As much as we must pray, we must also know how to obey Him. We must be ready to be led by His Spirit so that we might be efficient and effective in enlarging His kingdom. (Please note that His kingdom will come whether we choose to be laborers in His vineyard or not. But what a privilege for those of us who choose to serve Him!).
Maybe you are reading this and you are are saying to yourself, “God’s kingdom sounds like a lot of work, but what are the perks?” Beloved, the kingdom of God brings joy unspeakable. There is a work aspect, yes; but there is no aspect of toiling. And although there is work to do as we prepare for His kingdom, more importantly, there is the inheritance aspect. That’s right! The kingdom of God is the kingdom of inheritance. The Bible says this:
Romans 8:17 NIV
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
What a privilege to be considered joint heirs with Jesus Christ, who is God Himself, who willingly sacrificed His life that we might be able to live now so that we can live again. Not only do we get to live again, we get the opportunity to REIGN with Him. What a privilege!
Here is another great truth about the kingdom of God: you don’t have to wait for Christ’s return to enjoy it! That’s right! The Bible says:
Romans 14:17 NKJV
For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
When you make the decision to model your life after Christ and live as He did while He was on the earth, and if you accept Him and truly honor Him as your Lord and Savior, and allow yourself to yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading, you will bear fruit that makes it impossible not to experience increase. It will become impossible not to reign. The Bible says these:
Revelation 1:6 NKJV
and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 5:10 NKJV
And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”
When you choose to establish God’s kingdom in your life, you choose to reign- that is, you choose to walk in God-given authority and power. What an inheritance! May you enjoy a true revelation of God’s kingdom in your life, that you will have no choice but to do the needful in establishing His kingdom everywhere.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
