Zechariah 8:12 NKJV
For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give its fruit, the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew— I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these.
Beloved,
In continuation of our thought on seed members, another feature of seed memberd is that they do not have a rebellious nature. If they identify rebellious tendencies, they kill it off and guard against it. David, admonishing his son, said:
1 Chronicles 28:9 NKJV
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
A true seed member loves correction. They yield to the grounder and the pacer that God has prepared for them in the person of the pastor and the church leadership. Hence, they are raised to be stable and immovable in the face of life’s challenges. They undergo training, take up assignments, and yield to correction as needed for their growth. Their posture is like that of the Psalmist:
Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
Another characteristic of a true seed member with a growth mindset and a heart that loves correction, is that they have great potential. How do you know the strength of your potential? You are willing to develop it and deploy it for the sake of the growth and expansion of the kingdom of God. If you are truly a seed member, you do not hold anything back that could be of benefit to your local church or God’s kingdom. You’re ready to be used by Him completely.
Lastly for today, a seed member demonstrates the purity of his heart and viability as a seed through his exhibition of loyalty and faithfulness. Seed members are great followers with NO ulterior motives. Nathaniel in scripture is a great example of this. The process of church growth generally is that a person must first come, then hear, then choose to settle, and finally develop enough to reproduce and lead. May you enjoy the transformation that comes with genuine seed membership in Jesus’ mighty name.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS
