2 Timothy 2:1-2 NKJV
You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
Beloved,
Beloved,
2 Timothy 2:2 paints a picture of how God desires that we progress in ministry. The flow goes: Paul to Timothy, Timothy to faithful men, faithful men to others. The question is where are you on this chart?
The people who belong to the class of Timothy are those who are like-minded with the leadership over them. They are sincere and they sincerely seek the things of God. They have proven character and they are sons indeed.
The goal is for us to have the same qualities as Timothy. But while we are striving to become this standard, the least we can and should be under God is faithful men. The entire point of God coming to us at all times is to take us to where He wants us to be. Faithfulness is an attribute shown towards God and men. God does not take unfaithfulness lightly. If you know you won’t be faithful to the people God has sent you to and at your duty post, then don’t bother committing yourself.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS
