Luke 18:26-27 NKJV
And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
Beloved,
To walk with God, you will need to trust Him. It is easy for a man to say He desires to walk with God, but when the time comes to make certain sacrifices, or demonstrate faith in God or fully surrender to Him, people choose to walk their own limited way, sadly.
God will challenge you to trust Him as He desires to bring you across certain bridges. He will then destroy said bridges once He brings you across. Why? He doesn’t want you to go back to what you used to rely on. Such is the bridge of riches for the rich young ruler in Luke 18:18-27. He found it hard to part with his wealth and influence because of his strong attachment to material possession. Determine that nothing you have will have the power to take you away from God. Riches can take people away from God more than persecution does because with wealth, people usually don’t see the need to pray to God for things that poor people will pray for. May God help you to see that true riches and abundance are in Him. All you have to do is walk with Him and abide with Him.
