Isaiah 38:1-3 NKJV
[1] In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ” [2] Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, [3] and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Beloved,
You must be very intentional when it comes to living. You must give yourself compelling reasons to wake up each day. You must give God a compelling reason for God to keep you alive.
Sometimes, it is not enough to confess that you will not die; you need a compelling reason. A superior knowledge and a compelling reason will overcome contrary facts such as illness. Consider the example of Hezekiah; he gave God a compelling reason to keep him alive. Hezekiah reminded God of all he had done for him when he had good health and that moved God to keep him alive. God had to add 15 more years to his life.
How about Paul? Since the time he got his commission from Christ to preach and teach the gospel, he never rested, not even when he was arrested and thrown into the prison. At some point in his ministry, he began wondering whether God should take him away or he should remain to continue the work of the ministry, and by his own free will, he chose to remain for the sake of the saints, and God honored his decision (Philippians 1:23-25). The knowledge and truth about God that Paul had and was sharing with the church made God to keep him alive at the time.
Beloved, why should God give you all you are asking from him? Hannah wanted a child badly, but until she gave God a compelling reason to give her a son, nothing happened. When she vowed to return the child back to God after he was weaned and she fulfilled that vow, God ended up giving her 5 more children.
For God to grant your requests, your convincing reasons will come from a place of deep contemplation. My prayer for you is that your sacrifice will speak before God and your requests will be granted by Him.
I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace.
I call you BLESSED and NATIONS.
