I Peter 1:3-5 NKJV
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, [5] who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Beloved,
A while ago, we looked at compelling reasons to keep on living on the earth. What we will examine today is our purpose on earth as it concerns what God is doing.
Firstly, we must live in accordance with what God has bee doing since the beginning: redeeming mankind. Salvation does not end after receiving Christ. It is a continuous process. So the statement, “once saved, forever saved” is not a complete statement of truth. Salvation becomes full redemption when you cross over to eternity.
Your life on earth should not end with you, just like the blessing of Abraham is still living on; if not that what God said concerning him would have been a lie. Help people to keep their salvation and relationship with Jesus right, and to get into God’s program on the earth which is redemption of mankind. Help people take their rightful place as heirs- heirs of the blessing of Abraham and joint heirs with Christ Jesus, our Lord. Don’t limit your life and the lives of people in your generation to earthly living. Don’t let others or yourself limit your salvation to a one time experience. This is the start of you taking your place and fulfilling your purpose as it pertains to the plans of God for mankind on the earth. We will do this more next time.
