John 14:6 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Beloved,
The glory of humanity lies in our ability to make intelligent decisions. We can choose to live our lives in any way that we desire, yes. But we must always have it in mind that for every choice we make, and for every way we take, consequences ensue. When it comes to the way we live our lives, there are a few different formats we can choose to apply:
- The cultural way: This way complies solely with the unwritten codes that govern a particular people or society.
- The evil way: This way is established by perpetual negativity in thought, deed and communication.
II Kings 17:13 NKJV
Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah, by all of His prophets, every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.”
- The way of death: The label speaks for itself. It’s the road filled with opportunities that lead to death.
Proverbs 14:12 NKJV
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
- God’s way of life: His way of life is through His Son, Christ Jesus, just as the opening scripture describes. Not only was Jesus, while on earth, the perfect example of the way to live and not only do His words give us life and direction, Jesus is also literally the Way. He serves as a bridge or mediator between us and our heavenly Father. He is not a way, He is THE WAY, the only road that leads to success. The Bible says this:
II Samuel 22:31 NKJV
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
