Exodus 3:2-3 NKJV
[2] And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. [3] Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
Beloved,
Spiritual strength is not a gift, it is a product of growth and one’s training process. The wilderness of life is the place of preparation where God develops every skill and strength of the believer. The pattern of growth is that anything that grows becomes. The potential a mustard seed has is revealed by its growth.
Your becoming anything significant is tied to your growth. The size of the problem is not something anyone has control over. What you have control over is the capacity you develop to face and overcome any size of problem. So, contend for growth.
To grow, you must understand what growth means:
- Growth is the process of maturing mentally, physically, and spiritually.
- It is a sign of living. What does not grow dies. Work cannot be separated from growth. Work grows us.
- Just as a child whose growth is impeded will be a source of concern to his family, it must be concerning when a believer does not grow spiritually.
- It is God’s system that guarantees the possibility of reproduction, fruitfulness, and increase.
- Without continual growth and progress, such word as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning (Benjamin Franklin).
- Growth is seen by how you shed off and put on, 1 Corinthians 13:11.
- Growth is a proof of personal transformation, 2 Corinthians 3:16-18.
Beloved, grow up, but at the same time, grow into. Upward growth begins with downward growth. Be rooted and planted into a firm foundation. This establishes stability in life. The fact that we must “grow into” something signifies initial limitations, but much eventually, there will be a record of progress and continual transformation. May you continue to enjoy such a record, in Jesus’ name.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
