DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

‭Exodus 3:2-3 NKJV‬
[2] And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. [3] Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”

Beloved,

Divine pull reflects the lengths God, Almighty will go to get our attention. Just as there are different kinds of personalities and maturity levels, there are different kinds of divine pull. Let’s take a look at some of them.

  • Spectacular experience pull. People like Moses, Paul, Balaam, Peter, and Isaiah had such unique experiences. Not everyone will have this kind of experience, but if that is you, don’t waste this divine communication, because it is a beckon to something higher and greater than yourself.

  • Still small voice.

‭Acts 7:23 NKJV‬
[23] “Now when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel.

Such a pull does not present as spectacular. It is non-aggressive, but it is undeniable. This kind of pull is powerful, but you must listen for it, even if the wind and waves around you are boisterous.

  • Prophetic pull.  Jeremiah 1 describes how God, Himself can give you a clear path to take in life. When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations, He communicated with Him directly.
  • Withhold pull. To understand this kind of pull, you will need to study the story of Hannah. There are times when God withholds certain privileges from you in order to catch your attention. For example, Hannah needed to align with God’s will and purpose before she could become pregnant.
  • Correction pull. Genesis 16:7 tells of how Hagar ran away from being mistreated by Sarah, her Mistress, not knowing that the fulfilment of her destiny was tied to her. Fortunately an angel advised her to return, and she obeyed.
  • Force-of-right pull. This is a pull to establish righteousness. Gideon destroyed the graven image his people were worshiping because he believed it was an insult to the worship of the Most High God. Phineas was zealous for the Lord, and he didn’t mind killing perpetrators of iniquity to show his zeal. I am not advising you to go and kill people. I am encouraging you to be mindful of what the scripture has foretold – anytime, anywhere God’s kingdom of righteousness must be established, “…the zeal of the Lord will make it happen” (Isaiah 9:7).
    • Assignment pull. Finally we have the assignment pull. Timothy had a strong call of God upon his life, but it will take a discerning person such as Paul to see it and guide him in its manifestation.

Beloved, no matter how God chooses to pull you to himself, simply respond, don’t react. Or else, you will miss out on divine partnership.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
