Exodus 3:2-3 NKJV
[2] And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. [3] Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
Beloved,
Divine pull describes a supernatural structure or means crafted by God Himself, to get the attention of a man. God has a specific plan and purpose for the lives of every man, but the devil loves to distract us from it or even keep us oblivious to it for his own sake. Divine pull is designed, not only to call men to the place of divine purpose; it also literally pulls men out of fire. Rightly and timely response to God’s divine pull keeps us from making costly and even fatal errors.
David was known as a shepherd with a compassionate heart for his father’s flock of sheep. We know this because scripture says he rescued them from the mouths of ferocious beasts, 1 Samuel 17:34-35. This alone is very unusual as others would have run away to save their own lives. This is an example of divine pull – the very pull that prepared his heart to respond to Goliath and his threats; and as we know, this catapulted him into his destiny.
How about Ruth? She had no obligation to remain with her mother-in-law after the death of her husband. Her sister-in-law made the choice to return to her own people, but Ruth decided to remain by Naomi’s side. Something must have made her to make and stick with her decision.
God will come for each of us in unique ways. It is our responsibility to be yielded and align to Him however way he chooses to pull us to himself. Next time, we will look at different kinds of divine pull.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
