DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Proverbs‬ ‭28‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

Beloved,

Last time, we established that the Holy Spirit is always ready to guide us in all things, starting with bringing us to a place of repentance so that we can be absolved of our sins and enjoy God’s presence and fellowship with Him as originally intended. We discussed the dangers of sin and its consequences which will always lead to dismissal from the presence of God, loss, and death, eventually. Remember, Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood; the only substance pure enough to cover our sins. He also gave us the gift of His Holy Spirit— His very being, that is strong enough and loving enough to guide us to the place of repentance which we need so that every barrier between us and intimacy with God is removed. The Holy Spirit helps us with all things that lead to life and Godliness. Meanwhile, sin helps our flesh to speak louder than your spirit.

Beloved, the louder your flesh is, the weaker your spirit man becomes. The danger of this is that your flesh is limited. It is, at best, the vehicle that carries your spirit man and is a portal to the natural. It makes you sensitive to the things of this world where Satan, who despises you, can have full access to you. Your flesh can only be influenced and affected, just like your emotions. But your spirit— the part of you that can truly connect to God because it, like Him, is limitless— minds the things of the Spirit and like every spiritual thing, has the power to influence what happens naturally:

Romans 8:5
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”

Sin will always lead to death. Repentance brings you to truth, transformation and eternal life.

Romans 8:6
“…For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Sin can never prosper you. The sin you build a habit around will always expose your loss and death, it’s only a matter of time.

Proverbs 28:13
“He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

Don’t downplay the consequences of sin. Refusal to repent because of pride or shame— or whatever reason your adversary, the devil gives you, reduces you in authority and in true identity before God and men. This will not be your portion, in Jesus’ name! Choose Christ and repent today! Encourage your loved ones and fellow man to do the same.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
