DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

I Timothy 3:14-15
“These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

Beloved,

The mandate of a believer’s church membership will be marked by the member’s work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t be idle in God’s house. Your level of faithfulness in your assignment and stewardship will speak for you in the day of trouble.

In God’s process, there will be times He will answer your prayers instantly. At other times, God will intentionally delay before answering. It is not because God wants to treat His children wickedly; He uses that season of a believers’ life to develop patient, faith, and hope in them. This process is what forms and shapes kingdom virtues in them.

Your followership of the Lord and His true servants especially in the face of ridicule, affliction, and criticism will be your example to others who needs that encouragement. Many people out there are confused and genuinely need someone to share God’s word with them. And they will be willing to listen to someone who has gone through that path and came out victorious.

The church is positioned by God to be the nurturer of believers. Eventually, the believer must grow to begin to take responsibility for their membership. Not only must you grow all round, you must also be committed to add to the growth of your local church.

God needs you. You are His hands and feet to go to places and care for His work and His people. God can afford to do without humans, but it brings Him joy to involve His children in His work. Besides, it is a privilege for mortal man to partner with God immortal, so don’t hold back. When you hold back, you deny yourself of the reward of obedience and partnership.

Matthew 25:19-21 describes a person that deserves recognition and reward of committed church membership – be good and be faithful. Beloved, examine yourself to determine if your stewardship of God’s assignment in your church is acceptable to God at His standards. Adjust if you fall below standards and rise up to becoming effective at your place of assignment.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
