[3] Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. [4] Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Beloved,
Control is knowing how to manage freedom. Let us look at Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
There are some choices that only you can make. Allowing your light to shine before men is one of them. No one can do it for you. Likewise, there are some choices that- if you will get them right, you need to surrender control to the Holy Spirit. Why? Well, if left up to your flesh and own understanding, you will fail. Some things you must do or not do and some decisions you make require you to make them with the help from the Holy Spirit. Our flesh is limited. Many environments here on the earth are under the control of Satan, Himself. You can speak in other tongues and use all the blessed oil you like. If you will win, you must not what you have control over and exercise it. You have control over your decision. If you make the decision to surrender your life to Christ and enjoy the help of the Holy Spirit, then He can take control and help you to do the impossible.
Beloved, you must understand control and when and how to exercise it. If you are not the authority in a place nor were you sent by He Who has the highest authority, you are in trouble.
What is the driving force behind your decision making? Do you do any and everything your heart desires simply because you can. There is something I always tell my members: “There is freedom in restriction.” We will talk more on this next time. Until then,
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
