Romans 13:1-2
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.”
Beloved,
There are 3 prerequisites to exhibiting kingdom governance and each must manifest in the life of a believer:
- Sonship. While it is true that we are bond servants of God, the Bible equally addresses us as sons of God. Meaning that we must know and respond to God according to the demands of these 2 offices. As a servant, we are to do the will of God with prompt obedience, utmost respect, and genuine humility. But as sons, God wants to establish a relationship with us where he relates with us as heavenly Father.
- Love that manifests as a big heart, Exodus 28:29 AMPC
“So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart when he goes into the Holy Place, to bring them in continual remembrance before the Lord.”
In the old testament, the Lord instructed that the garment of the high priest must be inscribed with the names of all the 12 tribes of Israel. The positioning of these names is peculiar, it was written on a breastplate covering the heart of the high priest. The kingdom of God is governed by love, for God himself is love.
- Submission. The Bible says in James 4:7 to submit to God. God is not making this demand from automated machines who does what it is programmed to do. Because humans have something called the will, it makes it even harder for one to submit. So for anyone to willfully submit to God, it comes from a place of deep revelation, recognition and understanding of first, who God is, and in comparison who we are and how frail we are. Our submission to God comes from the revelation of the sovereignty of God, and that is what makes it easy to submit. Our identity is tied to correct kingdom governance and only sons are given the authority to make decrees. Like the high priest, have a big heart to ask God to step in on behalf of His people to turn their lives around for the better. Also, God is looking for our submission to authority and to divine process. When something spectacular happens to you, it comes with the test of pride. God is looking to see how you handle that test.
Stay humble and learn to give God the glory for what you seem to do well. Never let it enter your head to make it swell.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
