DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Romans 15:13 NKJV

 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 12:12 NKJV

rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

Beloved,

Our church’s theme this year is “Greater,” (John 1:50-51). For those who have yet to enjoy the manifestation of this powerful word for now, there is still time. If you are connected to the covenant that we carry, you must enjoy it before this year’s end in Jesus’ matchless name. For those of us who faithfully glean from this flow, those who read these write-ups periodically and especially if it’s your first time, I enjoin you to this glorious flow of GREATER as we prepare for this Christmas season. In this series, we going to unpack the power and importance of three Kingdom forces: joy, peace and love.

Jesus made the decision to vacate His throne and enter a manger in the form of a helpless babe because He wanted to prepare a place for us in His Kingdom. What is kingdom? A kingdom is a realm, region or place where an authority governs the dominant species.

Beloved, if you have made the decision to declare Jesus as Lord of your life, then congratulations are in order. You have been granted access to His Kingdom. As with any kingdom, your life should now be governed by the principles and culture of His kingdom, not your flesh, or experience or the kingdom of darkness in any of its deceptive forms. It will be up to you to spend time in His presence through the reading of the scriptures, prayer, discipleship and God-ordained church membership / pastoring- in other words, you will need to be intentional about learning His ways and enjoying all the benefits that come with living a life of peace, love and joy.

Scripture helps us to understand that these three elements (peace, love and joy) are not only portions of song lyrics. They are critical components of the Kingdom of God. When it comes to Jesus’ kingdom, it is comprised of righteousness, peace and joy. He, Himself, is love. Your life must look like these things- no matter the circumstance. It is kingdom posture.

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17).

In this series, we will unpack three of those for kingdom ingredients: joy, peace and the greatest of all, love. The more time you spend with God, the more you learn His ways and govern your life accordingly. There is no gift you will get this Christmas that is greater than His presence. His presence is a gift that gives eternally. There is no greater Kingdom than His own and He wants you to be willing and ready to enjoy it, now. The question is are you? We will expound upon these three kingdom ingredients starting with joy next time. Until then,

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
